Zinnia Arrangements

I love my daughters enthusiasm over "girls days" - she literally chants "girls day, girls day, girls day" throughout the day when we're spending time together. Over the weekend she planned an entire day of activities for us while the boys fished. It was a very fun "yes" day for this Mama. We started with blueberry cinnamon pancakes, coffee, reading, and some coloring time then she requested to get new flowers for her room. Her current arrangement had seen better days so I tossed it. 

When we went out to cut Zinnias she immediately requested to bring her new pink scissors - since she knows I always have scissors for clipping in the garden.  I showed her how to test the stems and see if they're sturdy and ready to pick. It was adorable to watch her attempt to clip stems with toddler scissors. We gathered a whole basketful of gorgeous flowers and then walked around clipping some greenery from the yard. 

I taped the top of the vase to make little openings for her to stick flowers through and she did a fantastic job. I loved seeing her focus so intently - the final product was very impressive!!
