Zinnia Cut Flower Garden

I knew I wanted to do a cut flower garden ever since we first purchased our land. There's just something magical about growing things from seeds and being able to go harvest flowers from your own backyard and arrange bouquets. I ordered some seeds from Floret Flower this Spring and used some old garden boxes to get started. I've never done a cut flower garden so it's been a learning process. I enjoyed it so much that I would love to do an entire field next year!

I ordered four varieties from Floret and I planted the seeds in April. I have been caring for them for several weeks now so it's thrilling to start to see all of the blooms come to life.

A friend of mine suggested using basil in my arrangements and let me tell you, it smells incredible. We also had some wild Queen Anne's lace growing so I clipped some of that to add to it.

I made an arrangement for my Mom a few days ago and I am looking forward to making a few more as the flowers become ready to pick.
