My Mom (Gigi) has been making this chili recipe my entire life - so it's not only delicious, it's also very nostalgic for me. She has actually won multiple chili competitions with this recipe. If you like a sweeter chili, this ones for you.
Ingredients
- 1 lb of ground beef (or turkey or venison)
- 1 roll of Jimmy Dean maple sausage
- 1 large can of Tomato Sauce
- 4 cans of Bush's chili beans
- 1 can of tomato soup
- 1/3 cup of light brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of mustard
- shredded cheese to sprinkle on top
Directions
- Add everything but the meat and cheese into the crockpot and set on low
- Brown the sausage, drain and add to crockpot
- Brown the ground beef, drain and add to crockpot
- Keep the crockpot on low for 6 hours, stirring periodically
I love to serve mine with cheese on top then ritz crackers and cornbread muffins on the side
