First and Second Trimesters

I thought I'd do a little snapshot of my pregnancy so far - it's wild to think by the end of this week I'll be starting my third trimester!! The final stretch!!

Weeks 0 -12

Highlight: I would have to say being able to go see the baby and listen to the precious little heartbeat. We told our family very early on and then shared with friends after our 12 week appointment. It's so special to have the people we love celebrate with us. I have also really enjoyed seeing the kids constantly rubbing my belly, wanting to see ultrasound pictures, talking about the baby, etc

Cravings/ Aversions: Bagels, sour candy, and honeycrisp apples have been major cravings

Symptoms: I was very sensitive to smells early on, I felt exhausted all the time, and I had some nausea

Physical Changes: I would say I definitely had a little pooch very early on but it stayed small the entire first trimester

Weeks 13 - 26

Highlight: I think just seeing our precious little one grow and grow - it's always such a relief when the anatomy scan goes smoothly. I am incredibly thankful for God blessing us with a third child and allowing things to go smoothly. We have also started putting the nursery together which is thrilling.

Cravings/ Aversions: I think the only thing that comes to mind is that I am weird about meats, chicken especially. Dinners have been difficult because nothing sounds good.

Symptoms: I was thrilled to have more energy going into the second trimester - I will say I do think having two small children just makes me tired in general. I have started to have some heartburn and insomnia towards the end of the second trimester. I had some awful pressure the entire month of December which has thankfully really improved - the baby must have moved up.

Physical Changes: I had not gained any weight at my 16 week appointment and then I went in for my anatomy scan and had gained 6 lbs. My 24 week appointment showed I had gained a total of 12 lbs. I feel like my tummy looks so much bigger but people still mention that I look small for my third pregnancy.
