One of my favorite desserts this time of the year is Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Spice Cake - I share this recipe every Fall. It's always a hit when we have company or I take it somewhere! It's also incredibly easy!
We had family over last night for dinner so I whipped it up!! It's my first time making it this season so I was basically drooling while it was baking and the smell filled our home.
Ingredients
1 box of Spice Cake Mix, the mix only
1 can of pumpkin
1/2 cup of water
1 cup+ of mini chocolate chips
Mix the spice cake mix, pumpkin and water in a bowl. Stir in at least 1/2 a cup of chocolate chips - as many or as little as you'd like. Bake for 35 minutes on 350 degrees. Let the pan cool completely before you remove the cake. I like to set a plate on top, flip it over onto the plate then place it on my cake stand plate. For the chocolate topping, microwave two tablespoons of butter with remaining chocolate chips and stir, it should be smooth (not too thick and not too runny - add chocolate or butter as needed) and spread across the top and enjoy!!
